Everybody spends money.  How we spend it makes a big difference to communities across Canada and around the world.

Dudley Does Right is what we’re calling a proposed website for the growing number of Canadians who feel a sense of responsibility when we shop.

We support products made in Canada. We're concerned about the health of the planet and everybody on it. We respect human rights, labour rights and fair trade.  We care about our health and the health of our families. We want to contribute to our local economy and we vote with our pocketbooks to support sustainable jobs, fair wages and lively, diverse communities.

Unfortunately, right now the administration in Washington, D.C. is a threat to just about all of that.  So we have to add: we don't want to buy U.S.A.

Conscientious shopping creates complications.  We don't want to go out of our way or pay a little more unless we get a better product.  We're frustrated by constantly debating the many lessers of two evils.  This website will make it easier to do right.  And feel good about it when we do.

With lots of citizen input (from people like you), original journalism, information gleaned from the many bloggers and activist websites (we'll supply links) — and responsible advertising — Dudley Does Right could become a combination of a Wikipedia and a Canadian Tire-type catalogue  of conscientious shopping — powered by its own ongoing blogs, feature articles and listings.  The buttons and sub-buttons above will link you to possibilities in many areas.   Start with "why now" button above.  There are many gaps you can help us fill.  Send comments to: response@dudleydoesright.ca
